I had a dentist appointment today, and had to have a filling. I now have a big fear of the dentist, I hate going there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Why? Well it's not the smell, the time, the money, the needles, but the drills! Evidently I am hard to numb up, so I now know what the drill would feel like before Novocaine was invented. (I didn't need to know that!) I think I would have cried, maybe yelled out as well if my L wasn't in the room with me. A few violent hand waves was all I could do. When I left I was a bit shaky and the nurse lady just had this look of pity for me!
I have to go back one more time, and I'm a wee bit scared to go.

Ugghh! I hope your next visit is a bit better! This definatly doesnt make me want to schedule my appt... which I was supposed to do 6 months ago!!! Good luck!
Ouch--sorry it didn't go well! Like B, I'm a bit hesitant to schedule my appt...missed it back in January when we moved from NY to AZ and I've been postponing it ever since!
Good luck on your follow up!
P.S. The picture that goes with this post is absolutely hilarious!!
I totally feel your pain...I'm hard to numb as well. I think that is one reason labor is ok for me...I'd rather do that then have a cavity filled!! At least in the end you get a beautiful baby and not a numb mouth!
I always tell them I am a big baby and need to be numbed up real good! I know this is so random - but, when I am numbed up good the sound of a drill sounds like a jet ski and I imagine I am out on a lake somewhere enjoying the sound... Like I said, numb me up good and I am happy (OK maybe not happy, but tolerable in the chair)...
