Saturday Was a Special Day

On Saturday my wonderful R was baptised a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. His Dad J performed the batism and his Grandpa Peine confirmed him. R picked primary songs "When I am Baptised" and "Baptism" to be sung. Bro. Kill and Sis. Wing gave awesome talks and directed them right to R. I am forever thankful to my Heavenly Father for all of his blessings, esspecially for R. He has such a strong testimony and great faith. We love R!

Read All About It...

We all really enjoy reading, a lot! We also really like books on CD while riding in the car. We are just finishing up "Araminta Spookie My Haunted House, and The Sword In The Grotto". It is very cute and funny, Araminta Spookie is one of my new favorite characters!

Currently J- is reading R.A. Salvatore's The Lone Droad, R- is reading a Star Wars chapter book of the 3 original Star Wars, plus books in his classroom. L- is having us read him picture books, his favorite are some Star Wars picture books, and he likes reading along with CD picture books. He just finished up "The House That Jack Built". B- is reading "Leven Thumps and the Whispered Secret" and "Molly Moon Stops the World".

Rain on Me

I actually Love the rain! Not a lot of people do, sure I get annoyed with it some days, but mostly I have a secret admiration of rain. It rained on my wedding day, and I got married outside, even danced my wedding dance in the rain! (I didn't plan the rain, it just happened, my wedding was on Aug. 1st!)

Anyway, I know this sounds a little weird, but I LOVE to do yard work in the rain. Not a little drizzle, but pouring down rain. And I like to do it on my own. So today is a very rainy day, and J is out of town. I put on J's cowboy boots and a hoodie and did some cleaning up outside. I came in soaked to the bone and feeling very refreshed! All the grumpies and stresses are momentarily washed away in one of the puddles outside. Now I am all renewed and ready to do the inside chores along with my schoolwork.

Being a Mom

Before I was a Mom I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.
Before I was a Mom - I had never been puked on, Pooped on, Chewed on, Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts.
I slept all night.
Before I was a Mom I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests, Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried. I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.
Before I was a Mom I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put him down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.
Before I was a Mom -I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important and happy.
Before I was a Mom -I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache, the wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much, before I was a Mom.

Is There a Doctor in the House?

L has informed us he has allergies.

Last night he told J and I that he was Allergic to Girls and Kissing!

He was set in stone serious, even me his Mom cannot give him a kiss goodnight!

Autumn Season sure is Pleasin!

Why Autumn is Awesome:

Leaves, leaves and more leaves!

Fog in the morning

That crisp wonderful smell outside

Jeans and Hoodies, and boots too!

Rain sounds as you drift off to sleep

Putting away fans, air conditioners, pulling out the blankets

Snuggling on the couch under a warm blankie

Hot Chocolate and Apple Cider!

In the mood for oatmeal and soups

Time to Bake!

Halloween and Thanksgiving!

Love the colors brown, orange, yellow, and red

Love Pumpkins!

All the cool new shows on TV

Fall is just a great season!

What a Gourd Day!

We had a PUMPKIN DAY!!! I love PUMPKIN DAY!!! I love fall, the smells, the colors, the upcoming holidays, the everything!

Saturday we went to Hunter Farm with my bro S, his wife M, their kids D, B, and A. It has been raining a lot, and when we got there it was a mud bog! It was dirty and smelly, and turned out to be the best ever! The kids got to run around in a hay bale maze, then we got a ride out to the patch, it was a giant patch. There was every size and shape and color of pumpkin imaginable, even mini's, gourds, and squashes. S picked out a 67lb pumpkin out, J's was just a bit smaller, then the kids all picked ones they could carry, it was all so exciting! Us two moms picked out some cute gourds and minis with our white pumpkins.

It was a dirty ride home (even I was wet up past my knees!) The kids had a scrub down, we had lunch, watched Halloween kid movies, decorated sugar cookies, a bit of dinner, and the day ended at about midnight. It was a Gourd day!

I don't Like That

I had a dentist appointment today, and had to have a filling. I now have a big fear of the dentist, I hate going there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why? Well it's not the smell, the time, the money, the needles, but the drills! Evidently I am hard to numb up, so I now know what the drill would feel like before Novocaine was invented. (I didn't need to know that!) I think I would have cried, maybe yelled out as well if my L wasn't in the room with me. A few violent hand waves was all I could do. When I left I was a bit shaky and the nurse lady just had this look of pity for me!

I have to go back one more time, and I'm a wee bit scared to go.

Show Time!

I watched the season premiere of "Pushing Daisies" last night and now I'm hooked! I thought it was so good.

Some other shows that are watched in our house is:

House, CSI: Miami, any Do-it-yourself/ house renovation show, Colbert Report, Reba (reruns).

The boys do watch cartoons, but would rather play DS/X-box, so J and I usually do the picking of the TV shows and all the watching.
