Piano!
For about 3 years now I have been on the search for a piano. I was a bit picky, it had to be close enough to pick it up, cheap enough (200$ or under), in decent shape, a tall upright, and dark brown. I searched every paper, and diligenly searched Craigslist. Tuesday night I found one, and the lady still had it! I was amazed, ususally I can find a piano but by the time I call it's already gone. So last night some friends of ours helped up go and get it. It feels like Christmas! I LOVE it!

Mommy Monday (late)
So...this week has been a crazy week, that is why Mommy Monday didn't happen until today!
R got his wolf badge! He worked and worked and worked and he got it! He was so excited and so were we! He made large cupcakes and decorated them for the cake auction at the ceremony, they were yummy! Way to Go R!
L loves the camera! He had been taking pictures with it, then came and proudly showed me his work. They are of him, R, his favorite toys, and me working on girls camp beads. He is quite the photographer!

Friday Favorites!
1) A clean house - My house gets so messy some days and it drives me crazy! I love it right after I've had a good cleaning, everything is put away...then in about 5 minutes something happens...It's the mystery I've never figured out...the house is trashed faster than the speed of light!
2) The trampoline - I love our enclosed trampoline I got a few years ago in NY, it is the best outside toy ever! Even babies can't fall off of it! J used to call it the giant playpen.

3)Automatic bill pay - J and I seem to take turns doing the finances. After I started school he took over here. We now have most bills on automatic pay, and he is going to get all of them that way so when he is deployed I don't have to worry about not forgetting to pay the bills!
4) Coke Zero - My favorite drink, it's just so yummy and has helped me with many late night homework sessions!

5) Planting bulbs - I bought some bulbs last fall, and never got around to sinking them into the ground til this week! L helped me plant them and told me he loves to plant!

Fugitive!

Tonight I was on my way to a program at church. I had to drop off the neighbor boy and then drop off my kids at my friend G's house and me and her were carpooling in together.
So naturally if I hurry and only obey some of the most necessary laws of the road would I have made it on time...
As I was coming to the end of our road I noticed a big SUV and a 4-wheeler on the side of the road and both drivers were out talking. I (like I always do) slowed down enough to see if there was any on coming traffic and seeing none kept on zooming. One of the men yelled "Hey!" and was waving his arms over his head at me. I was thinking maybe they were stuck and needed help or something. Then I noticed the uniform...
It was a cop who was lecturing the 4-wheeler and was now yelling at me! I rolled the window down and he said," Is there a stop sign right there?!" I said, "(pause)...ummm Yes..." Then he yelled very grumpily, "Well try using it next time!"
I was allowed to keep on going and the cop's wrath was returned to the poor 4-wheeler, Whew, no ticket for me this time!
R said as we were driving away, "Is there a stop sign there Mom?"
Me-"Yes there is"
R (only a tad sarcastic) -"Well, why don't you start using it!"

Mommy Monday
Monday is my day to dote-post on my children! So here is today's Mommy Monday:
L-He is definitely growing into that next age level. We have to be more firm with him, give him more responsibilities, and make him pay the consequences for doing something wrong. He has his own ideas on life; he has his own passions, likes, and dislikes. So far he dislikes this new way we are treating him! But...he is still our 4 year old, and he is still that little boy...

Yesterday J was humming a tune and L asked him what he was singing. J said-Nothing. L-What was it Dad? A primary song or somefing?
J-No, but do you know primary songs L?
L-Yes! A popcorn one!
Then he goes on to describe a song he knows...
L- I look out the window, and there is a tree... And then I look on the tree and there is popcorn on it! That's all I know.
He really likes to say prayer at prayer time. This is how he always starts his prayers, "Thankful for the Father..." It is so cute to me; I think I will miss it when he says, "Dear Heavenly Father". I think he has a certain feeling for the Baby Jesus he has learned about. He knows Jesus is all grown up now, but he just loves the Baby Jesus too! L used to pray that Heavenly Father would turn Jesus and himself back into babies together. He just had a desire to be a baby with Jesus!
R is our #1 boy! He and I can sure butt heads on some days! There are times we think so much alike and some times we are polar opposites (poor kid!). He is so smart, loving, responsible, and funny too!

We like to joke around a lot in our family, a lot! We can also be pretty sarcastic. I like to make puns with R.
One day I made a pun-joke (for the life of me I can't remember it, but it had to do something with his rainbow goldfish crackers) and I said, "Get it! Ha!" R said, very seriously, "Yeah, I got it, but it wasn't very good". Everyone had a good laugh over that one!
One time he told me, "I know why Heavenly Father made you my Mom and me the son, it’s because you joke around so much and I don't, so I'm supposed to make you more serious!"
I love these boys, and I just love being their Mom!

Out of This World...

Last night's Lunar eclipse was out of this world amazing! The boys and I saw it when it was 1/2 way while we were driving. R said it looked like butterscotch. When we got home we learned about the Lunar Eclipse on the internet. When J got home we threw on our jackets and climbed onto the roof where we had the most amazing view and watched the moon go behind the earths shadow.

Spiderwick!

We got to see Spiderwick on Saturday. It was awesome! J's sister M came up and we drove into Seattle and got to spend a few minutes at the Science Center where we saw some pretty nasty bugs on display. Then we went and walked around outside with the spaceneedle as our backdrop. It was so fun. Then onto the IMAX! The kids were practically floating on the way in! While waiting for the movie to start they got to check out a bunch of cool stuff they had on display. During the movie L ate his weight in popcorn, I got surprized at one point and squeeked and jumped in my seat which got a few chuckles out of the folks behind us. We all loved the movie, esspecially the boys. R has read all the books a few times over, we have listened to the books on CD a few times each. Seeing the movie was, I'm sure, the coolest thing ever for R and even L! It was a super fun day!

The Secret...

J was helping me with my math homework last night. I was at my midweek test and was working on the problem, going thru the steps.
He says, "this is the answer..."
I tell him "wait, I'm trying to figure it out"
He says, "oh, its just moving the numbers around, you'll get it eventually, here is the answer..."
I just bust up laughing and he looked at me and said "What?!"
I told him, "So your saying all math is, is just moving the numbers around, that's the secret?"
He said "Yes"
Now that totally clears up algebra for me...just move the numbers around...HA!

Mom = Bubble

R was blowing bubbles tonight and L ran over and started popping them as they were floating around the kitchen. R started telling L to stop popping them. He was trying to catch them and re-blow them into new bubbles. L was ruining this by popping them before R could catch them. Finally R says:
"L stop popping them...I'm making new bubbles like Mom's make new people!"
It was so funny, J and I just cracked up, as a Mom I have never been compared to a bubble before!
So now you know, Mom = Bubble
