Friday Favorites!

1. My Team! - The ladies on my soccer team are just so rockin' awesome, I love playing with them! We just keep getting better and better, and it just gets more fun each time we play! One of the things I love during a game is when the opposing ladies start to get mad at me, it must mean that I'm starting to do something right!

2. Cheerleaders! - My 2 boys were my cheerleaders at last nights game, it was great, this is what I heard as I was running around on the field:
-Yeah Mom!
-Mom....MOOOM....Over here Mom!....MOOOM...Is this glass soundproof?!
-HAA...HAAA....HAAA...HAAA
-Sister P.
-Mrs. P

It was so funny and then later they asked me why I wasn't looking at them and I told them because I had to look at the ball, but to keep on yelling because I could hear them. They were pretty pleased with themselves!

3. Wardrobe - Who taught this kid how to dress?

4. Vacation - J is on vacation! Hooray! We are leaving for Idaho on Monday for the family reunion, we get to camp it up, swim it up, and visit with loved ones we haven't seen in a long time! So excited!

5. T.Time - We are off this afternoon for some T. Time, we get to go to my Big Bro's house and play it up this weekend! I am looking forward to workouts w/M, board games, the tastiest food, the kido's all playing together, snuggling Sissa, watching movies, hangin around the fire, and just plain being around each other. We all look forward to these weekends!
-Oh yeah, and bonus for me, I get to go on a date w/my Man, they are watching the boys for us tonight, sweet!

Friday Favorites!

Helloooo Friday!

1. When School's Out! - Yesterday was R's last day, he is free for the summer! HOORAY!! I just LOVE it when school is over and I get to see him all the time! We are gonna have a rockin' good time this summer!

2. Medicine - I save medicine if I have any extra left over when done being sick. Good thing for J that I do that! In NY he had a Terrible case of food poisoning and he was given some meds to help w/the nausea, I saved all the leftover pills. Well he was pretty sick the other day and I pulled out those pills and it Really helped him. I was So thankful I had them!

3. Passage To Zarahemla - I heard about this movie on another blog and so rented it from Blockbuster-online. L was a little bored w/it, but R really liked it, I did too. There was some neat parts to it, some cute parts, and enough action parts to keep R interested!

4. Book of Mormon Reading Challenge - Our Bishop has challenged us to read the Book of Mormon in 60 days (4 chapters a day), we start Sunday! I'm excited to take up this challenge, especially with the boys!

5. Bikes - The boys ride their bikes everyday, it is so cute, even the neighbor kids come out and they zip up and down our road. L had gotten really good and I can now walk on our main paved road with him on his bike. He actually has to wait for me now! I told the boys we can go on bike rides everyday this summer if they want (well I'll walk they'll ride) and they are pretty excited for that!

Friday Favorites!

1. L Time - When it was just me and R we got to do all sorts of things, just the 2 of us. After L was born he has pretty much had to share me all the time. Life is also very different from when R was little to after I had L. So this 1st week off I have tried to make some extra time for L, and it has been awesome!

We have been playing Go Fish and Concentration with SpongeBob cards, Monopoly Jr., after Wed. soccer practice I stayed after so L and I could play soccer together (let me say, soccer champ in the making!) Picnic at the beach with shell collecting, reading it up with lots-o-books, extra snuggle time, and he has been opening up and we have had so many conversations! Today we have a list, he is helping me with chores, and we have a list of games to play, we have already gone on our walk/bike ride, and played 2 games. I sure am blessed to have this little guy, and to have this special time with him!

2. L's New Cut -

I cut L's hair, it is a slight fo-hawk. He loves it and calls it his soccer haircut!

3. Soccer gear-

Again, I just love this sport! I have my ball, shin guards, shorts, socks, bag, and H2O bottle. Last night was our 1st game, it was a rockin' good time! Afterwards I asked J what he thought and if he was bored watching or had fun. He says, "Oh, I had fun...watching you guys get annihilated!" It was so funny! So yes, we lost our 1st game, but we still did pretty good!

4. Goals - I set some goals for my time off, work out (try to get better at soccer), play it up with L, and stop drinking all pop. Man, I am a Pop-a-holic! Most know that I love a good diet cola, especially Coke Zero! But all that caffeine does a doozy on me, and I want to be healthier and so with the cheering on of my hubby, I quit the Pop. Man, let me just say I feel bad for all addicts out there, dropping a bad habit/addiction is hard work! J has been great and doesn't drink any carbonation in front of me, we don't bring it in the house, and the only grumblings have been from the boys because I cut them off from all pop too (they love Sprite, Grape, and Root Beer soda's) It's been 5 days, all I have been drinking is H20 or Milk. (Oh, and I have been using Excedrin for the headaches-and sore legs from soccer-but have been working off of those too). I am so pleased with myself that I have been able to do this!

5. Peter Pan - I don't really like this Disney cartoon or any of the Peter Pan stuff. But...

Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson have written 3 books on how Peter Pan became Peter Pan and I really like these books:
Peter and the Starcatchers
Peter and the Shadow Thieves
Peter and the Secret of Rundoon

Friday Favorites!

1. Let the Growing Begin -
J spread grass sead in the back, we finished the garden boxes and yesterday filled them with tomato starters, corn, beans, peas, pumpkin, cute-cumbers, carrots, and peppers! I filled my flower bed w/flowers, and J made me another planter box for my strawberries. I LOVE all this planting, now as J said yesterday, "Let the growing begin!"

2. Pushing it - Wed. I had a soccer practice and really tried to push myself, my legs were sore and I was feeling slow! So yesterday J stayed home with L and I went off to the gym. I jogged for 24 minutes (total of 2miles) since that is the game times, then I speed walk-jog-speed walk-run,and repeated this over and over until I made it to 5 miles! Boy was I a bit sweaty, but felt so good, I have never gone that far and ran/jogged that much on a treadmill!

3. That Crafty Man - J is just awesome! I love it when he builds stuff around the house, he made those killer planters, he has made me book shelves, tiling our bathroom, made me some awesome cedar benches,a fence for the backyard, a deck, and yesterday made this way cool gardening table from some trees he cut down on our property, it rocks!

4. My Dogs -
I just love those "puppies"! They have been so good lately. Usually when they get out of the back yard they are off and running and just won't stay around. Well, I guess we have all become more interesting since when they get out they'll stay home with us and not run off on some adventure. I mean, Most of the time they stay home, but when a dirt bike or a 4-wheeler is going down a road near us they are off to run with it! (But who can blame them?!)

5. Ravioli's - J came home with some frozen ravioli's. Uh, can you say YUM?! Life just gets busy and those things cook up are are ready within 10 minutes and they are tasty!

Friday Favorites!

1. Picnics - Today is J's work picnic with all the guys playing some baseball, I love it when picnics start popping up, it means summer really is coming!

2. Homework Help - I just love this:

3. Androcles and the Lion - R is in a class play he is Androcles and this is his favorite part!
Lion: Rrow---rrrowww---rrroooowww!
Androcles: How much worse can life get? Soldiers to the left about to capture me...and a lion to the right about to eat me!

4. FrankinMower - J loves being outside, he is great with all the landscaping changes we are doing with our property. I call him my Forest Gump when its grass cuttin' time, he loves to mow. We have a new mower for the front yard, but he kept the old one for the back yard that was still trying to grow. Well, he made some crazy adjustments to the old one so he could cut down a bunch of bushes by our driveway and it worked! So now he is going to rototil it and we have flower seeds we are going to plant there. Way cool!

5. Soccer - I joined an indoor women's league soccer program! I am so stinkin' excited for this! I practiced with a friend on Wednesday and found out that I have a lot of work ahead of me this month. The 1st game is June 5th, so I have a month to get ready!

Friday Favorites!

1. Feeling Good - I'm starting to feel so much better, my fight with April is coming to an end! This morning I woke up and didn't feel like someone had stolen all my "batteries", I feel like I'm starting to Wake Up! I'm down to 3 pills instead of 4, and my inhaler use has slowed down too! I love feeling healthy, especially after feeling so sick!

2. Diet Squirt - When I was a little girl I remember my Dad drinking Squirt, I loved it then just because he drank it. I always thought that the name Squirt sounded sour, so when I'd take a sip of his soda I would make a face and say, "ooh, that's sour huh Dad!" And he'd always agree! Now as an adult I love to grab a diet Squirt every now and then, and this week I've had a hankerin' for some and so I got a few 2-liters of it. My boys love to sneak sips of my soda, just like when I was little with my Dad! (I know I've posted about Diet Squirt before, but this week its a favorite again!)

3. Bikes - J aired up the tires of L's bike, and I got him a new helmet (Lily the dog ate the other one!) and got R a bigger bike at the Goodwill for $7.50, they are loving it, and the weather has been so nice that it is so easy to go outside and hop on the bikes and ride around!

4. Blogging - I love blogging! It is fun to read others' blogs, but I love posting on mine! It is so fast and it looks so nice, I never have time to write journals, or make scrapbooks like I'd want to, so Blogging is the perfect alternative. I print every post and put it in a binder, this is the family journal/scrapbook! When we got to make a package to send to J I just gabbed all the postings I had done since he left and sent them to him and that way he could read up on all the funnies and happenings at home. The boys love going on our blog and seeing their pictures, R will even sit down and look at the binder like it is a book.

5. Visiting Family - Any visits with family and friends is just fabulous! A few days ago after J got off work we drove down to his Sis M's house where his 2 other sisters D and J were there with Bro-in-Law B. We got to meet our niece M for the 1st time, she was a cutie! Niece H and L hit is off big time, we hung out and had dinner at Applebee's, it was a nice little visit!

Friday Favorites!

1. Crystal Light packets - Sometimes I have a hard time drinking water, and I'm a bit of a pop-a-holic, and so these little H2O flavor packets are just perfect!

2. Courage - I get lost so easily, I mean VERY easily, like if I blink too much during traffic I will lose my way! Before we got our cell phones I had gotten Very lost in a city not too far from me, I didn't know where I was or how to find my way for 45 long minutes, if the boys hadn't been with me I'd have been bawling! But they were there and so I kept my cool. Well, I went back to that city today (with my charged phone just in case) and I drove around, went to a few stores and made my way out like it was nothing!

3. A new book series - My friend M lent me the "Fishers of Men" series by Gerald N. Lund. It is a 3 book series that is set during the time Jesus was living on the earth. I have just started the first one, but am very excited about them!

4. Long Showers - I have to admit that I love to take very long showers to unwind. But I'm not the only one. When R is getting very cranky I tell him to go take a shower, he usually gives me a terrible look and pouts his way in there, but 30 minutes later he emerges a clean smelling happy kid! Yesterday I did this after he had forgotten his homework, and so last night he had a whole weeks worth to do, I made him do all of it and by the end he was as crabby and stressed as can be. So then I said, hop in the shower and stay there til the hot water runs out. He came out feeling so much better and was our R that is fun to be around!

5. Unplugged - I told the boys the X-Box got broken and I stashed it away. L went through serious gaming withdrawals, but it has been so good! He has become unplugged! J also took L's DS with him when he went underway, so right now there is only one DS for 2 boys and they are pretty much waiting til the the other one comes home to play with them. I am seriously considering canceling Satellite, but I have to wait to talk that over with J when he gets back!

Friday Favorites!

1) The Count Of Monte Cristo - I read this book a while back and loved it, I also enjoyed the movie that they made a few years ago. That movie doesn't follow the book exactly and has different endings, but is still very good. I found another movie that follows the book and it's so good! It's all in French with English subtitles and is super long, about 8 hours. I have been watching sections of it over the past few nights, tonight I get to finish it up!

2) Jogging - I have always been very wimpy when it came to jogging. M got me to go jog with her last weekend and I actually survived! So I decided I needed to start doing it. But what to do with the boys? Well, we live on a back country culdesack, you can see my house on either end of the road. So I measured it and if I run it 15 times it equals a mile. Yesterday the kids went out with me and ran as much as they could and then just played while I plugged along, then afterwards R told me we should do this everyday, so I told him OK!

3) AM Wake-up Call - My best friend JBug has been soooo nice and all week has been giving me a wake-up call between 6am and 6:30am so I will get my rear in gear! I have a hard time waking up early, but she has made it easy! Getting up earlier has helped me stay more on top of things this week, get in a few extra workouts, and helped me not feel so stinkin rushed, Thank you JBug!!!

4) Eragon - We have been listening to Eragon on CD as we drive around. It is above L so he hasn't been paying attention like he usually does, he'll only catch bits and pieces of if. R is just loving it! We bought Eldest in book form so when we are all done listening to Eragon R can read it, he can't wait!

5)School Conference - R's school conferences crack me up. It is student led, so he does just about all the talking, shows me his best work, and decides what he needs to work on. His teacher just sits back with a smile on her face. So far every teacher has been like that. Then I am told that he is just a wonderful boy and they never have any problems and he's ahead on everything. It's such a breeze and R always walks out feeling great about himself!
